Monday, November 14 attracted more sea lions to the white rock for which Piedras Blancas is named than I've ever seen out there.
Plenty of long-billed curlews on the beach.
This blog records my experiences as a docent at the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery on Highway 1 in California. Late summer finds sadult males molting on the beach, as juveniles begin to return for their fall haulout.
